There's a HUGE difference in performance of the cars which is mainly down to the difference in budgets, the richest teams can afford the best drivers, designers etc which in turn means they have more chance of winning races, and once again, it will be a Ferrari or Mclaren driver who wins.
How is that good for the sport?

It might be a good idea if all the cars were evenly matched but they arent!

And Torro Rossa (Rosso) may have won a race but you have to admit that it was a one off, i mean, they were hardly hustling Ferrari and Mclaren for the rest of the year were they?
Ok, Renault could be good with the right car but its still realistically going to be down to 3 teams!
currently the best driver avaerge across the season wins, so if you were to finish 2nd in every race you'd win the title more than likely as opposed to the guy who won 9 races but failed to finish every other
not the best idea in the world, perhaps if the constructors got the points and the drivers got the medals it would sort things out?

i think its a good idea, but they will have to sort out the rules correctly.
There will be much more agressive driving and all the shit which went on last year with people getting stop goes need to be sorted

Maria - Brian - you have?
Yes, but not literally 'in the flesh'.
Saw you at Combe, but like I said, you certainly don't need no 'hold it all in' pants hun

It got them Ross Brawn and a structure.
To build a decent house takes good foundations
Remember Button the last time he had a good car? It wasnt as good as the Ferarri and Renault but he still outscored everybody, including Alonso and Shumacher in the last half of the season. He is no mug in a racecar despite what some people think

NONE !!
this is a team sport and the way it works is just fine
and while i think about it
this means the best teams are more likely to win the world championship than the current system
the only reason kubica was in it nearly till the end was becasue he was finsishing consistantly with 3rd & 4th etc
in the new system he'd be no where near

Its going to kill off competition, not make it better!!
Hamilton wins the first 9 races, oh look, hes world champion! Whats the point of turning up for the last 8?
He is F1, he owns it. Hardly a prick.
Hes simply with one idea, turned it back to the very essence of what a race is.
the winner wins.
If you dont come 1st you dont win.
If anything i think it will help the teams with the "lesser" cars and even the teams out.
Its going to be a lot more about risk and driving skill rather than statistical racing.
I can't wait!

At least the way it is now, as was the case this season, it could go down the last race!!
This is the reason that this points system was brought into effect in the first place!
Regardless of the distribution of those medals, the driver who won most races would be crowned world champion.
Wish he'd have done this in time for last season!
look at it this way though.
with the new rules this year, we have no idea how the cars will stack up against each other. Maybe the Ferrari will be super quick because they have got something others had nt thought about.
Massa wins the first races due to out right paces, and basically wins the title in the first races, other teams wont bother developing thier cars because there is no need any more. It has been seen at season starts before where 1 team has a massive advantage but through out the season other teams have caught up.
On the other hand, no over taking is due to the fucking shit circuits that they design, there are very few proper race tracks left on the GP calander any more, they are all crap city circuits with no run off, so drivers are not willing to risk hitting the wall or causing damage.

Or a bra from the looks of it.
Medals = Shit. If it was only 1 race, then maybe, but it's not, it's a series of races.
Just make the difference in points between 1st and 2nd bigger again, now that Schumis gone. Job done!

garbage! the biggest reason cars don't over take is because they can't get the slip stream that F1 cars of old do. most of the aerodynamic parts of the car are not there to aid downforce but to spoil the airflow as it comes off of the rear of the car. the diffuser is the worst offender in this as the steep angles used allows the air being extracted from the underside to be thrown up at high velocity. the cars travelling along behind then have to cut through this wall of turbulance. this is why invaribly the lead car will always pull away from the pack as this car has clean air to cut through. if you don't believe me then look at any race held in the wet. all that spray doesn't come off of the tyres alone does it.
