5 or 6 yrs old,out walking the dogs with two of my aunties, walking along the edge of an old stone bridge and fell about 20ft into the river,my aunt rushed down the other side to grab me..

i was doing my best to swim and shouting to my aunt "look auntie ann ,i'm swimming"

could have been worse as i was only 5 or 6.

Mine was with the Focus I guess. When it went up in flames, the electrics cut out and the door locked. Couldn't even open the doors with a basic handle, so sat there beating at the windows as the windscreen started to melt. Luckily, as I smashed the driver side window, the locks opened.

another 1 was when i used to race motocross bikes, came over a jump and saw a lad lay on the floor, pulled front brake on to get front wheel down, hit his bike, came over my handle bars, another bike landed straight on my back, thought id broken my neck, couldnt move at all, thought i was paralysed-shit meself.

rolling the first 205 when we hit a truck tyre filled with water at 60, wasn't really scary or close to dying at all, but made me stop and think about how bad it would have been on the road with no seats, harnesses and rollcage

closest to dying was probably being knocked out randomly walking through manchester, some cunt ran past and chinned me for no reason, i was left lying on the pavement with a pool of blood coming from my head, one of my mates thought i was dead and started throwing up
i was unconsious for a fair while and woke up in the ambulance, then i got dead abusive sayiing i wanted to go back and kill the bastard
they kept me in overnight, and all i wanted when i woke up in the morning was a bacon butty!
so i wandered off to the hotel cafe, got my butty and a copy of PF and waited for a lift home

1. was run over(not knocked down) by a post office van when i was 5...not a bruise on me,tyre tracks over my chest and a week of observation in hospital.

2. hit black ice on my xj600,bruised all my right hand side and hurt for a month...not as bad as seeing a green mondeo stopping a few feet from me.

piece of advice.....stay back from bikers in bad weathers and observe the safe distance rules, its often the car behind a biker in a crash that gets him.

I got pulled into a big DSG lathe 4 years ago very nearly lost my arm and my life had 7 fractures either side of my elbow and lots of soft tissue damage, only reason it diddnt kill me was i managed to get the machine in reverse and it spat me back out! one thing that always sticks in my mind was the sound of my bones slowly snapping it was EXACTLY the same sound as when you crunch a polo mint in your mouth

The main one that sticks in my mind is the following,

A few years back l was working as a Divemaster for a very ruch Venuzualea family. The boa was in Palua Micronesia and as you might imagine is full of nasty creatures,

Now being a diver you might think that Sharks are the only and or major threat but their are other animals,

The scene is set that i am standing in the back of a Boston Whaler tender about 25ft twin 175hp's on the back blasting along at 35kts, wet suit around my waste enjoying the scenary. Palua is famous for it's diving and Rock islands and these are located approximately 40mins by a reasonably fast tender, as we were blasting along i felt something on my feet and moving.........., instictivly l kicked my foot out as it felt very strange, upon looking down l noticed it was one of the following

A banded Sea Snake

Sea Snake venom is Neurotoxic (affecting the nervous system) classified in the group Proteroglypha and sometimes Myotoxins (affecting skeletal muscles) with a fatal dose being about 1.5 milligrams. Most Sea Snakes produce an average of 10-15 mg of venom so they should always be approached with caution as this venom is 10x more lethal than the venom of the landbased Rattlesnake or Africa's deadly Black Mamba. Even a dead or decapitated Sea Snake is capable of delivering a bite reflex strike capable of producing a life threatening envenomation. Sea Snake Antivenom is available for snake bite victims or Tiger Snake Antivenom may be used as a substitute. A word of caution - a Sea Snake bite may sometimes go unnoticed due to the small size of their fangs.

They typically bite right between the web of your feet,

To say l levetated would be an understatement,

No antivenom exsists for these snakes so it would have been eyes out lights out for me,

When l returned to the GF she was far from happy

Mike

has anyone ever been given a large dose of morphine?

when i broke my leg about 4 years ago, they gave me three regular doses of 25mg of morphine, after the first i just felt pissed then they gave me two more and it felt as if i was dying! i was laying there, the feeling in my body disappearing, i was unable to move, unable to talk and could was thinking this is what death is going to be like. i wasnt really panicking but felt like something was wrong but couldnt fight it. in the end i was fighting to keep my eyes open and couldnt and drifted into unconsciousness.

im sure thats what dying is going to feel like! it was scary as fuck!

When I was younger I used to have a milk run. One morning during the winter I jumped off the van from the side door, and ran around the back to deliver some milk to a house on the other side of the street. As I got to the o/s/r corner of the van, milliseconds before taking another step onto the other side of the road I must have caught something out of the corner of my eye and stopped dead. A van whizzed right by almost taking me with it. I thought fuck that was close and carried on with my next few deliveries. When I got back in the milk van my mate asked what happened to my nose, I said nothing and had a look in the wing mirror. I had a graze right across the tip of my nose. Next thing a guy appears at the side door of the milk van asking if I was ok. Apparantly i was that close to the oncoming van that it's wing mirror had took the skin from my nose. I was deffo a gonner if I had been any further forward. Sometimes I get flashbacks to the incident for no reason.

Another time years ago in my mates Uno Turbo (to this day I still rate this as the fastest feeling car I have ever been in, scared me shitless) we were on back roads between where we live and a place called East Kilbride. There is a well known bump which for some reason is nicknamed Whores Leap we had been over it many times but this night we seemed to be going just that little bit faster. There were 5 of us in the Uno and we went over that bump like fucking lightning. The wee fiat took off and it felt like we were airbourne for ages, long enough for us all to realise what was coming next. The car slammed back down into the ground and then proceeded to bounce all over the place. My mate lost control and we slid down the hill towards a right angled right turn, still doing god knows what speed. At the bottom there was 2 massive trees on the outside of the turn and we were heading right for them. Somehow the car straightened itself out and we went crashing through the fence and right between the 2 trees with inches to spare. We slipped along on the gravel for about 100 meters before we stopped. We were certainties for a very sore one if not death if we had hit either of those trees. Once stopped we all dived out and everysingle one of us went over to the bushes for a piss. Funny looking back on it but scared me witless at the time. Would love to get my hands on another Uno Turbo. So much fun

I was waiting to turn right into a road on my push bike as a young kid, I was positioned in the middle of the main road I was on and waiting for the last oncoming car to go past,

As it did I started pedaling and began to turn into the road only to be struck by some prick on a motor bike who thought it would be a good idea to overtake me on the wrong side of the road,

fuck me it was a shock and hurt like hell but amazingly nothing broken except the bike which ended up in a skip, still have a few scars from it to this day though, my attire on that day was a t shirt and shorts as it was summer.

1) I was stabbed when i was 17, I was robbed at knife point by a few gangster yardie types in Nottingham one night. I was in intensive care for 3 days....
2) I accidently set fire to a mate of mine using a 5ltr can of gunwash thinners, the whole can became a flame thrower, flung him back a good 10ft to the wall of his garage. Fucked my head up for a while, a vision of a man screaming and running around covered in 8ft flames doesnt leave the mind for a good while. I put him out and he had quite a few burns, luckily he survived and we are still good mates to this day. I was very lucky too, i threw the can down at the right time, it exploded....
3) had a few near misses in cars etc, managed to squeeze into a gap at the right time etc etc...
4) had a blow out last year in my cabriolet on M18. I was doing ***mph when a mate of mine overtook me and breaked infront with his hazards on. Thought he was being funny untill he was a pale shade and pointing to my rear pass side wheel that was smoking. I pulled onto hard shoulder to find my tyre had literally disintegrated there and then on the rim. If i hadnt slowed i would of most definatley spun off into a ditch and probably been brown bread at that speed.
