1 you'll get away with but if you get caught with 4 with the same number your have trouble explaining that away to the police.a mate i know got caught passing 1 in an off licence, cashier called the police and they went back to his flat with him to search it in case he had more. hide them away and pass them over 1 at a time when you get a chance.

I got given one once and tried to pass it on, shop noticed and refused to take it, so I passed it in another shop down the road. The next morning I was awoken by police with a warrant to search my house looking for more notes, I said I only had the one and I was just trying to get rid of it so not out of pocket, got a caution (was 1st offence) for obtaining goods by deception using a fraudulant instrument.

Just pass them on, it's the governemts job to see this doesn't happen.
I got passed one by my old landlady(in change), but I spotted it, spoke to her handyman that works on her properties for her, and she tried him two days previous with same note, she's a JP and her son a copper name of Durrant, just spend them is what I would do, can't say I've ever known the plod being called, might be worth seeing if a bank would exchange them for proper notes ?

because the lass in the shop where I passed it knew who I was and grassed me up.

apparently if a shop assistant takes a dodgy note because they havent checked it then they have to pay it out of own pocket.

I used to work in a cash & Carry in France and you can imagine the amount of snides i used to get handed
All money i took, i put through the counter as it was 99% good at spotting them
The other foolproof way i used to check was the rub my thumb across the top to feel for the rasied print. Once you get to know the feel of the print you will know a snide without looking at them. I found by doing it this way, you could check the note without making it obvious and when 99% of my Customers were do-as-ya-likeys, you would not want to upset them.
They even used to try the trick of handing me a banded grand with one note missing and one folded over to make it look like there was the right amount
Oldest trick in the book, just gotta flick the bundle like a pack of cards and the folded one used to fall out.
still it goes both ways, i was once handed a banded grand in 20's and there was 51. I said spot on mate

I'd say use them in a busy nightclub one night - chances are due to the nature of the place they wont take the time to check? Failing that, just use them gradually at the kebab shop on a saturday night or whatever? Might aswell use them somehow. I'd also try them at every ASDA/Texco self service, and the roulette machines in the bookies etc... Just on the off chance.

i reckon they should drop good quality forged notes from helicopters all over the country!

the only losers are extremely rich people. its a great way to equalise the prosperity across the nation because those outside the country don't suffer and the infrastructure of the uk would not suffer as a whole -as the banks (under pressure from the government) could not afford to acknowledge the situation as being a problem. all notes would HAVE to be accepted at banks and the end result would be NO difference in terms of the wealth of UK ltd but a significant redistribution of it.

don't forget that this "crime" has no victims except the very rich (or those who have such aspirations) and who pays the police?.

prob have a house search tonight or a "visit".

night clubs are a bad idea, someone pointed out to me that clubs usually have a lot of UV lights all around the bar areas not just at the till to make it quick to check for fake notes. i hadn't paid much attention to it until it was pointed out.

thing about funny money is if you set your self up for a bit of counterfeiting and got caught you would do major time for it,its one of them crimes that this goverment takes very seriously and rewards you with a holiday in the cooler.

i have seen fake money and was impressed by the way it was made, they had watermarks and everything exept the silver in a real 20 when held up to the light can be seen to weave in and out and these were just dotted along.

In my club we have UV lights at all tills. Anyone caught with fake notes is detained by our "gentle" door staff and the police are always called.

One guy didnt even make in into the place 2 weeks ago as he was searched and had nearly 800 quid in fake twenties. !!!!
It took 4 door men to escort him to the office...LOL

There are some really good fakes out there now. We have a sample that looks and feels exactly like a real twenty even has a proper weaved foil strip. Fails the UV test though !

Simon,

so what is it in genuine notes related to UV that the forgers find so difficult to copy?
