Default The £20k Challenge....

what car would you have for £20k max, for everyday use AND trackdays?

Assuming it'll be your only car too, so taking into account I have no wife/kids i would say this..

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/756529.htm

possibly this, slightly more space

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/791879.htm

what would you have?

E46 M3

No other car would be such a great everyday, practical car and good track car for the money

Kinda agreed.

Given his criteria it seems kinda odd to suggest a 4 door saloon, but they are awesome.

why not? you dont HAVE to have kids to have a 4 door saloon...........

practical for every day use and a track car-sounds like it fits the criteria to me.

i remember last year driving 4 of us(no kids) in complete comfort with the cruise control/tv on to donnington xmas trackday, then doing the trackday all day, then driving home in comfort with the cruise control on...............in my old m5.

although the exige is awesome,as long as he isnt a big lad.......

Subaru Impreza 22B.

Ultra-rare, look great, handling is sorted and they are just about bearable as an everyday car.

After i'd spent the 20k on one, i'd be saving for a 6spd conversion, ecu and cooler. The 6spd would make it a brilliant everyday car IMO.

Some great suggestions here, particularly the CSL.

I'd have one, no question about that. Just summising from his criteria that he would prefer a 2dr Coupe.

But yes, my shortlist would be E46 M3 or E39 M5

Nothing else can quite do the practicality and usability quite like those 2, for me.
