Actually removing the mechanical linkage is not a good idea, especially on a big power turbo car.
The mech linkage provides a rising rate between pedal movement and throttle plate movement. This provides you with butter control at low throttle plate openings and will make the car easier to drive on the limit eg out on the track.

i can only comment on the two ive done including my own,
both were considerably better after the mod, lighter pedal, dead even pot sweep, no slop in the linkage, neater, moves the throttle cable away from the front panel which is tight and the sharp 90 degree bend doesnt do cables any good , moves cable away from turbo area as it tracks along bulkhead,
