Schumachers been offered a WSB ride for 2009 with Honda!!!!!

Would be very interesting to say the least!

Despite the 'offer' it seems he's not that interested at the moment and happy to continue racing in the german championship. Right choice in my opinion. He would want to win i assume, not just take part, and theres no way he'd even get near the front runners at WSB level!!!!

Would still be good to see though im sure.

amazing in a f1 car , prob a dab hand in any 4 wheeler ,

but it dont always transfer well over into bikes,

granted hes prob quicker than me round track ,

I like him, but in my opinion he just wouldnt be able to run with the big boys in WSB at all. Well, certainly not at the moment anyway.

3 seconds behind checa may sound quick (and is still bloody quicker than the average rider can do im sure), bit in real terms, 3 seconds A LAP is a hell of a lot of time over a 25 lap race. And thats without having the same overtaking skills as the more experienced riders/racers, which would slow him down considerably!

He would be lapped by the majority, if not everyone on the track. And im sure he realises this, which is why he's opted out of it at the moment, and fair play to him i say. An ex-champion like schuy wants to WIN, and if he doesnt think he'll have a chance, he wont compete.

It would be interesting to watch im sure, and would gain a massive audience, which is what appeals to Honda and their sponsers no doubt.

As beefy said, yes he is a great rider/racer and better than most i sure, but i reckon theres many club racers that given the right machine and support, could be just as good, if not quicker.

Schummacer is NO fool! Obvioulsy he still wants to have some sort of racing involvment(its in his blood) and anything on 4 wheels would have been a lose/lose situation for him as the expectation for him to win would of been HUGE(plus media coverage)...now on 2 wheels,the pressure is off IMO and he gets little press on his bike riding compared to cars!

It may be a coincidence but a certain Ross Brawn works for Honda now...i can picture the conversation now....
