Fuel pump on 4x4 saff

As said will prime first thing, but NOT each time as it is temp/time related.
I would first change the fuel filter as this can severely restrict flow, then a rewire would be good idea, if not already done, you can if necessary just take feed from ignition switch to relay/through cut out, as some do.
The fuel pump relay is behind the ecu, and will have a black/red wire going to the pump, through the connector.
The light position has no bearing on the pump supply.
