that looks like an ideal replacement block for someone with a 2 litre mk3 cortina

Think the cost may have put some off, I wouldn't even consider a yb at that price, have to be a vette V8 for the money!!

i'd heard the new heads weren't very good, (like turkish blocks) poorer quality alloy used

ive not read the whole thread but should they not have put oil jets in as standard as most new engines have them now ( as in performance)
would that not make for a stronger more reliable bottom end

Check the dry weight. Less that 50 lb. Saving my nickles and dimes for a heart transplant in my Sierra.

Do anyone have new info about these blocks and specially the heads, I haven't seen anyone using the new alloy heads? I found this, 650 hp on alloy block:
