Clean them up with a brush/ water, and put the stuff straight on, its good stuff and will last well.
Can also use it to paint the engine cover too

ive just overhauled my front Brembo's on the Evo, i shotblasted them clean, then used a high temp paint, oven baked the calipers to cure the paint, then lacquered them with 2 pack lacquer, hopefully they should look good for ages.

This is the high temp paint i used

Before

Painted with the high temp paint, and stuck in the oven

Stickered up

Lacquered

i think hammrtite looks too glossy and rather gay lol

i notromorsed mine so they were nice and smooth, prepped them with a bit of wet and dry, used halfords VHT metalic black, drys like a metalic anthracite colour looks smart.

also that plasticote vht paint is good in satin black.
