Did my usuall 2-3 month workshop clear out and scrap run.

The chap said they are giving £10 per ton now for scrap iron!! as the bottoms fallen out the market.

Thank god i had some rolled ally and lead also on board, or the trip over there would have cost more in diesel than what i got paid

the arse has fell out of the price of scrap big time, couple of months ago a was gettin £3.40 a kilo for copper now its down to £1.50!

my mate got £14 for a renault clio the other day as where he normally gets around £130 odd, he's not running anymore atm because its soo bad

price is actually 164 euro's per tonne in LTL price,so if they are paying £10 per tonne then somebody is making millions out there!!

round my neck of the woods the local boys are weighing in at just £15 a ton .

worrying thing is , if pikeys aint making money out of scrap then what they gonna do to make money now ...............................

I'd imagine it's at least partly down to over supply, with every many and his dog raiding freecycle for scrap these days

^^^i hope you got them to collect the civic,i phonedthe the other day for price on alli and they said £300 a ton,30p a kg wtf,used to get about £7 per 14'' alloy now about £1-30 ish

Yep, they're picking it up next week... confirmed price for it as £50 though, would have been 150odd if I'd got my finger out a bit quicker and punted it a few months back, but I missed that boat. No point crying about it.

about 9 months ago i was getting £170 a tonne and £55 for a cat.
Now its £10 a tonne and £25 for the cats.
Everyone i know is stockpiling but i cant see it going up for atleast a year.

you should think urself lucky ur getting 10-20 a ton as scrap here is nothing (free drop off)
took old escort shell in yesterday & got nothing for it! lol

scrap here was £200 a ton for cars & £1000 a ton for ally & £45 a cat

its now £nothing for cars, £300 a ton for ally & £7.50 a cat

never seen so many broken down cars on the side of the road for so long!!!!!! lol

few months back i took in 44kg of copper wire, houshold wire it was classed as, all hoover flexes etc. got £58 for it all which i though was ok lol

so a few weeks ago i took in what i have been saving up since, 65kg this time. got £19

reminds me of that episode of the simpsons where there was a school recycling drive, they saved up about 3/4 of a ton of newspapers, skinner too all the kids to drop it off and the guy gave them about 70 cents
