Obama president?!?!?!?!?!
Fook me, I never thought I'd see the day a black man would be President of the most oppressed country in the world!
Well done to him and let's hope he does a better job than that slack-jawed-hillbilly-yokel before him....
But I still think he'll be assassinated within 2 years...

Anybody catch his first speach? Its viewed as historical as Martin Luther King's speach.....although I bet he never thought this day would come!
Hope promises actually get fulfilled this time, or I'm gonna persuade people on American forums to vote Schwarzenegger in next time!

Im sick of this already.
Im far from racist, but all the radio/tv reports are making this out to be a victory for the blacks.
one broadcast i heard today, some african american woman was shouting "we did it, we did it" who's we? the political party or black people?
If anyone seen the front of todays Daily Record paper (Scottish one) there was a picture of a few hundred black people in a queue, with the title "OBARMY ARMY" or something similar... basically saying the only people who want him in power are the blacks.
Its alot of shit. YES i think he is the man for the job, but what a massive deal has been made out of his colour, its ridiculous imo.

i think fair play to the guy, he's the best man for the job regardless of his skin colour, i took quite a bit of interest in who was going to win this election as i hope to emmigrate to america in the near future.

60 years ago, white people were stringing up blacks and hanging them whilst going free from prosecution!
The reason for the big deal about his colour should be obvious - this is one of the most important days we are likely to see in our lifetime - I think that makes it worthy of "making a big deal out of it".

Well done to the bloke I say. But I agree they shouldnt keep on about his colour. I think that this will only cause further division between the black and white communities. Why should his colour be a big deal? We have moved on from the days of slavery and stringing people up because of their race... why cant we just move on. We are all the same under the skin I like to feel. Why not say congratulations to Obama, as he is the right man for the job.
I think this whole race thing has gone well over the top.. why not treat us all as equals.

Yeah he's just as tied up as Bush or McCain in the messy politics. The main reason they put him in power is for what he represents. But how momentous does it seem on the face of things

In honesty whatever PARTY he represents has won !
THEY chose to put a black man forward.
They could have put a white man/woman forward and sprouted the same shit.
BUT they didnt, by clever use of politcs they felt the time was right that a black man could win, and because he is black would probably stand a better chance of winning !
The people should be voting for the policies NOT 1 man and the colour of his skin.
AND agreed the more people go on about the race divide or whatever they want to call it, the more it put into peoples mind there is a problem.
Like been said blacks dont have to ride on different buses or do anything different to whites like they used to have to, blacks arent murdered for no reason (well cept by themselves in gang wars) with the murderes being let off.
So times have moved on, if his party has got what it takes to sort out a country and run it the way the MAJORITY of people (he was democratically voted in so hope so) want, THEN he is the right man for the country.
