its just hot enough to drink straight away
with a kettle you have to wait for your tea to cool

I ask as you need a good bit of heat in a cuppa if you are dunking "The marine of buscuits".......The HOB NOB.....

But, with a Rich Tea....or Morning Coffee, you dont need as much heat.

It needs to have a good "Heat retaining window" i think

PMSL @ Myself.........how technical can you get about the age old art of Biscuit dunking

They are a "hard dunker"......

They take a good few seconds longer than any other biscuit on the market........... but once they reach there dunking limit, they just let go and drop in your brew without any warning.....

You are indeed correct, it's crucial to hold the biscuit vertical at all times.

You get less sediment in the cup with the ginger biscuit though.

Try putting the water in the microwave first then through the kettle

DO NOT really try this, unless you want to be burned.

Tiff - i have one, and it gets plenty hot enough!

I prefer ginger biscuits or hob nobs, both of which are a 'hard' variety of biscuit... and the tea's temperature is sufficient enough not to have to dunk them for long, whilst still enjoying a hot cup of tea, but not scalding hot where you have to wai to wash your biscuits down.

Hope this has helped!

I bought one last year and it's pretty pants to be honest.

It gets hot enough to drink a cup of coffee straight away.

It doesn't get hot enough to make a decent cup of tea from a tea bag.

The first 3 seconds of water is cold/coldish/warm water going into your cup, so that probably knocks the temp down abit.

The first hot water comes out in 3secs, you don't have a cup full of hot water in 3secs, which is what the marketing conned me into believing

A fast boil kettle won't be too far behind it and will be proper hot.

Ours leaked from the base and went back in the box to go back, but is still sat there months later

IMO a waste of money. I'm sure someone could work out how long it would take to pay for itself at say 5cups a day.

My kettle will boil a cup of water in under a minute easy, so will save my money.
Temp of this is subjective, some like it silly hot, I know someone that microwaves the milk he puts in his coffee, weirdo

They're shite.
Mate bought one but they're useless for tea. Never mind being hot enough to dunk, they're not even hot enough to brew properly.
Tea tastes like shit.
He only uses his for coffee and keeps a kettle for teas.

They're also fited with the noisiest, slowest, small pump known to man.
Avoid like the plague.
If you like the tea it produces - you dont know good tea.

On a postive side, it gave the rest of us a good excuse to take the piss out of him for his 'must-have-another-pointless-gadget' obsession.

We are/were evaluating these at my work. Think we have about 6 dotted about the place. As above they are ok for coffee but not tea. The first spludge of water it coughs out is coldish and then gets warmer. The water chamber also gets real dirty and is more noticable because it's transparant plastic. The nosel also gets clogged

We have a kettle next to it and use the kettle everytime, the tefal doesn't seem to hold much water and if you are doing a round of brews it works out quicker to use the kettle.
