I'm having a couple of issues with my PC.

I've just fitted a new HDD, fresh install of windows etc.

I've still got the old disc in as a slave - I was hoping to copy all my docs from the old install over to the new...

I can explore the rest of the files on the old disc fine, but when I try to open my documents I get an "Access is Denied" message.

Is there any way round this?

I hope so as there's about 5yrs worth of pics and music etc on there!

I've managed it now Panic over!

 

What was the problem?

 

The problem was as I wrote above

The solution was to turn off simple file sharing and take ownership of the files

Just re-installing all my software now
