The only reason I fucked my 182 off last year (Car allowance = daily driver etc) was because it was too small in may ways.... also on long journeys you felt it.

Other than that- one of the best cars I owned, 45 mins of driving my 172 yesterday and Tiff was seemingly impresed as a daily motor.

Rather run with one and not need it than run without one and need it- and to be honest hasn't hurt on any of the track cars I've had so far.

The car might drop on him & knock some sense into him!! LOL!

Been down to Coventry this weekend in mine....I love driving it - plus everyone seems to want to race you.....shame they get battered when they try - although a new S3 edged away from me on the Thelwall viaduct....GUTTED! lol!!

You see that black plastic box in front of the wheel - any guess what it is?!

That plastic box is a carbon canister, it is in the fuel line, i have no idea exactly what it does. But many people remove them

Carbon canister....I thought it was more of a swirl pot type affair to stop fuel surge/starvation!

The Aircon is a Right bastard to remove, u need a new alternator, some new brackets a new belt ect.

We did it on ours, but we had all the parts in the shed thanks to a engine transplant in my bros 172.

I've seen the kit for sale to do it for £300 odd ... but sounds expensive - I am sure I can sort somet.

Why does it need a new alternator?

Any obvious performance increases?

Because, of the way the pullies on them are. The cup alternator is slightly different to the normal one and mounts differently.
I am sure (BRP) jay on Cliosport, managed to bodge it with a alternative alternator.
I will try drag out some picks of them both, the cup one is alot smaller thouhg

We reckon there is a slight preforme increase, nothing massive but you save some wieght by ripping out the pipes and rad.

not much in it i dont think dude,

the gti6 might be a tad quicker to 60, due to the close ratio box
