Default Days without eating...

I don't do it on purpose but i have a tendancy to go sometimes 3 or 4 days without eating, i only remember to eat when i stop to myself and think shit, i haven't eaten since "Wednesday or something"

I just don't feel hungry during that period, but then one thing will set me off and i think oooo i'm hungry i should eat...

Anyone else have this happen to them?

see your body should be telling you that you need food which is the feeling of being hungry and if its not doing that then there is something wrong i aint no doctor mind but thats how i understand it lol.

I'd go to the docs

Most eating disorders are part of serious psychological disorders and the sufferer actively takes a part in the disorder. Maybe you have some illness???

Im surprised you dont feel faint or dizzy a lot when your not eating for that long.

I can't say i have ever felt dizzy or faint at all, this no eating thing has been going on for a few years now.

I think my dad has spotted it though as he is always trying to get me to eat, like tonight he asked me 4 or 5 times if i wanted something to eat and everytime i replied "i'm not hungry".

Got to one point where i said "for fuck sake i'm not hungry ok!" which i regret now as i know he is only doing what he thinks is best.

You are actually supposed to eat before you feel hungry tbh you
should have regular snacks and meal times etc

i'm the same, albeit not for days

i can go a whole day or so without the need to eat, and then nibble just to sill that feeling of emptyness in my stomach

i normally only eat twice a day, big at around midmorning and big again abou 2 horus ebfore i go to bed, but sometimes i pack it away like my stomach was a bottomless pit and i'll eat big before 6 (3 wheatabix), then big agian at around 10/11 (breakfast stick from the burger van 2 sausage, eg, 2 bacon, in a french stick)then big again at around 2/3 (big mac meal) then big again at 6/7 (another big mac meal) then big again before bedtime (normal food at dinner time)

as long as you don't feel faint when you've gone a long time without eating them fine i would say

just nibble on stuff to keep peole happy that you are eating but i think you'll find that plenty of peole have the same sort of set up, ultra slow metabolisms, mine sems to go from fast to slow to fast on an irregular basis but i do find that i don't eat as much when i'm sat at the desk in the office as i do when i'm out and about

i can do a day without eating easy, but then if i go much longer i start to feel weak and just want to sleep - it's funny how disturbance to your eating patterns can affect you

I dont eat for maybe 3 days at a time, not often maybe once a month and iv done it since i was a baby. Parents worried when i was a kid and they took me to the doctors. The doctor said that if your body need food or water its pretty good at letting you know (feeling hungry or thirsty) and that because i was healthy there was no need to worry. Never seems to have affected me i dont get sick often and im quite fit due to running etc so i wouldnt worry to much fella unless your feeling ill or losing weight or always feeling tired.

When you feel hungry do you binge eat? i.e. wolf down loads of food to satisfy your urge at the time? Or do you just eat a normal diet?

I'm surprised you can concentrate and your breath must stink. You start to break down the protective layers of fat around your organs in this situation to keep your energy levels up which is bad news. This also gives you bad breath etc

You need to get in a routine of eating....maybe get some professional advice tho rather than listen to us on pf.

My breath never stinks, i use this new fangled invension know as a toothbrush. As for you body using its own fat reserves that perfectly natural. Its only un-natural when your body doesnt use it up and you become a fat fooker

Your body uses fat reserves yes.....but i mean using the fat packed around your organs to protect them which is a bad thing

As for the breath......if you do start using fat from around the organs in this way you will get bad breath, nothing a toothbrush can do. Go smell a muslim whilst they're fasting. Most of them at our place stink when its Ramadan

Yeah thats pretty serious, if not the reason for doing it, then certainly the fact you go about your day to day life for 2-3 days without eating anything, cant be good to starve the body of "fuel" for so long.

Id see a doc asap

What has being hungry got to do with it?

Eat ur breakfast when u get up in the morning first thing, then a big lunch and then a big dinner. How do u go to the gym to hang out with your big mates and do all the kickboxing etc when u haven't eaten?

Eating is part of a routine. I put it as primary in my life pretty much. Secondary is gym exercise. (appreciate family and mates are just as important, but u must start by looking after ur own health and immune system)

Are you seriously saying you just forget to eat? I don't believe that for one minute!! Ok maybe if you are in a rush you forget breakfast one day but how the hell you can forget lunch and dinner I don't know! Surely when you are at work or come dinner time you see other people eating and remember?

Maybe you are subconsciously telling yourself to starve and are ignoring the signs rather than forgetting!

You mean you didn't catch it last time we kissed?

I used to weigh in around about 21 1/2 stone but i'm probably about 14 8 now or so...

Phil, i'm not saying i forget to eat, i'm saying i feel no need to eat.

Wish i hadn't started this thread now as people seem to think i'm some sort of fucking spastic forgetting to eat..

seems a few people are the same as you..
if you worried about it maybe see what the doc's say, but i would just make a point of sitting down and at least eating one meal a day suppose you have got used to not eating you dont feel the need for it

wish i could do that
