Default Boost pipe thickness question

hi knowledgeable ones sorry to be a pain was just wondering what would be the best boost pipe thickness to run for a t3.bascially im converting an xr2i to run turbo power and was looking at ordering some 3inch universal boost pipes so i can run a custom mounted intercooler.have been told by friends that it will cause major lag with a standard (as far as i know) T3 so was wondering what would be the best thickness to get,2 inch 2.25 inch or 2.5 inch

many thanks for your help in advance

You will never need bigger dia. than the outlet of your turbo. My opinion

it looks quite small the outlet of the turbo so i think its maybe a 2.25 inch outlet?would the 2.5 be ok or still gonna get lag?

Won't give you lag. A big intercooler can give you a slight lag, but it builds up superquick anyway
