E30 track car/C20LET help/suggestions
Will try to keep this short as i can... im wanting to start doin track, after lookin at thread after thread on here and pics and such, ive decided i want a go.
Budget is limited, i used to be a mechanic/service monkey really, have access to fab stuff if needed(nout too technical tho).
Chosen motor is the E30, love the look, all i read on here is good stuff about them so thats that.
Now this is where you help me choose... go for a 325 and the route of bike carbs/webbers, or such,
Or any base model E30 and use the 300bhp C20LET engine i have in my garage with no home....
- If the let is used i need help with gearbox? which to use or where can help? CTS man?
- What prop/lsd?
- Engine management.... was hopein for omex600 but they are costly so advice on other and suppliers/mappers (around manchester)
- Roll cage? can only find some on ebay and they are in the states!
As said i am on a low budget but i should save on labour cost as i can do the work myself, so hopefully i can get myself a good first time track weapon....
any help pointers, tellin me im stupid or pushin in the right direction is welcome lol
cheer Ric.

I'd start out with a 325 and go from there. It's all straight out the box stuff and then you can just enjoy it. See how you feel after a while and then consider doing the conversion.

that was a first plan, and good advice i suppose not being used to track days or even a rwd car lol, but would still be interested in the points on fitting the LET engine, just seems a shame it sat there not doing anything lol and i dont want to sell it befor i get offers.

Get a RST,cheap to tune, and spare parts are cheap too.A well sorted 180BHP RST will pass alot of so-called expensive machinery.Used one myself for 10 trouble free yrs.Regards,Micky
