Default bmw e36 problem

i used to be on a bmw forum but cant find it

anyway sold my p-reg 328i coupe couple of months ago and i know the guy i sold it to,he says car has developed a problem

it starts and runs fine, but once he braking and the revs drop it cuts out,but starts right away again no probs

he says even sometimes just taking foot off accelarator it does it but burst back into life again itself,

and it has started to idle really low like 500rpm

im not very clued up on managment issues etc, could it be iscv?

anyone encountered this?i know a few have had the bmws

Sounds like it an air/fuel mix problem? i.e. not enough of one.

Exact same thing happened to a mates R plate 323, turned out to be the crank sensor.

sh*tty throttle butterflies can cause that and hunting too due to the poor air flow when the throttle is closed. check its not full of oily residue and give it a really good clean out with carb' cleaner and a rag if it is!

its probably just a sensor; as suggested above it could be the crank sensor - i doubt if its lambda, as i know these sometimes cause weird idle issues

failing that maybe an air leak?
