Why not just have the branches that hang over your property felled, or do the simple thing and move your car if possible? If its 200ft tall, then the roots of it will be massive and if you do something stupid, you could end up getting seriously fined or have a claim filed against you for damage to other peoples property.

I would seek professional advice on the matter and not from some people on the Internet.

If you are that concerned why not approach your neighbour & ask if he will employ a professional tree surgeon to trim/remove some of the branches that overhang your property if its that much of a nuisance to you & said tree is on neighbours land

Besides it is the autumn & trees do tend to drop leaves this time of year I've got a big oak tree next to my house that regularly drops leaves all over my drive but its a natural process & i dont complain

Besides if you do decide to try to kill the tree & neighbour finds out what your doing he's then well within his rights to seek some form of recompense from you damaging his property - if its serious enough council could also chose to become involved & fine/prosecute you too

i have a mate in the landscaping biz and i swear this is true.

hes at a job which part of it involves chopping a big tree down,he just starts getting ready to chop some branches off when a weird woman jumps in his face and starts shouting at him and then she grabs hold of the tree and hugs it, he couldn't believe it and neither could the 2 officers in the panda car who turned up to remove her

F**K me that went up fast, and it laughed at the hose pipe and fire extinguisher too, same as that nasty pampas grass I burnt out.
