torque or bhp kills t5 box ?

To many other factors - torque and number of cyclinders kills box's

400kilo F1 car and a t5 would last 5 secs.... for example....

v8 and loads of torque....

I know weight has effects on cars power so i guess its related LOL....

I don't know how to write my point accross LOL

Of course it makes a difference, maybe not huge but a difference all the same.

It's like you pushing a car compared to a lawn mower. You've still got the same strength but your less likely to hurt your back pushing a lawn mower.

And my old T3 Karl mapped was an arse to drive because even though it was stage 1 it would spin the rear wheels at any speed in any gear now my T34 doesn't to such a degree. My car with more power is less of a handful Big turbos and bigger power make it easier lol

As it so happens, he IS , but that has nothing to do with his choice . Having spunked so much money on the car, he hasn't the finances at the moment to replace the gearbox, so the mapping was deliberately done to be transmission friendly .

i can tell you weight plays a massive part.

i refer to andys (devon group) mk2 escort, 530bhp, std 4x4 box, std diffs, and hasnt broken any in over 10years,

it weighs fuck all.

With all the money you have spent on gearboxes, perhaps you should have just put in a Tremec - fit and forget ?
