i spoke to mad today
as he cant post the price can i?
£1295+ the dreaded and i think it was £350+ for mapping
also he is now doing another 1 i cant remember the name of, vir something
for £750 +

an omex 600 is £600
dta is £600 ish
emerald the same

all these are decent spec but then to go up to the high spec they are all £1000ish plus

im unsure what to do atm, i want it but cant afford a high spec one and dont know if its a good idea to go for the cheaper ones

You can buy the ECU plug and just chop off your Ford plug and use your loom if it's good..

ECU does not do up to certain bhp, mappers do that.
People have thier faves, for various reasons, mine is emerald, and it still has way more features than I will ever use, though the FLAME THROWER map comes in handy!!
Only switch it to this every now and again as bumper gets a bit hot, but is triple map, with all three maps done for £275, not each but all three for this.
Also done by the people who designed it and who build it and who map it, so they know it quite well to say the least.
I can also get you a loom done if you want.

good then unless your actually going to make use of what an aftermarket ECU can offer stick with what you have, unless there a specific reason you want to change, i.e, tuner/mapper choice, or need something your standard ECU cant offer.

I agree if you start with nothing, i.e no loom, no ECU, etc etc aftermarket management is a very good choice.

I.e only reason mike is on T6 is because of the inlet, his car was perfectly capable and extreamly good on P8. and a damn site cheaper too

I agree with ryan, but in most cases why people want to have a aftermarket ecu as they want to play with it them selfs.

I learned a fucking lot from it

Ryan, point taken but for me personally It would mean I would only be dealing with one tuner - keeping it simple.

I'd always work out what It costs and what I can recoup before shelling out anyway, I learnt that the hard way!

Mike............ Remind me of your timescales next time!

yeah i know what you mean mate, and yes it does keep thing "in house"

speak to martin about a t2, and see how much of it you can offset against the sale of your p8 eu, obviously your loom can be converted to T2 no problem.

Jay,
Fitting T2 to your car is a no brainer, if you want the car mapped properly, then you have to go this route. Webber Marrelli is just a waste of time, especially the way these are mapped (in the majority). Speak to your man and have your eyes opened .

Jase, the T2 doesnt have very good boost control, but theres nothing stopping you using a seperate boost controller
(thats if ive got that bit correct!)

im going to be on T6 2000

ECU £1500. give or take a few quid.
Loom £550. again, give or take a few quid dependant on spec.
