Weighing up me options mate, I'd prefer to deal with Martin for everything TBH. Keeps it nice a simple, but I owe enough at it is so have to do the sums!

Kelv,
I wasn't aware of any issues with the bost control on T2, other than it does not allow an adjustable boost pot (other than a two stage boost control)?

if it only does 2 stage boost then i coulld understand someone wanting a aftermarket boost control if my ecu only done 2 stage i know i would need one.

as its only a 2 postion boost control an after market boost controller would be an added benefit if you wanteed further boost control

kind of what i implied really

rather than just finding a way to get picking with a choice of words - when you probably knew exactly what i meant anyway

Ps 2 stage would be fine for me (Or as I like to call it - "Tania in car", "Tania out car" switch!)

(thats if ive got that bit correct!)

im going to be on T6 2000

ECU £1500. give or take a few quid.
Loom £550. again, give or take a few quid dependant on spec.

why pay more than the price of a new ecu for an un-supported second hand unit?

T6 2000 in its day was the bollocks, but for some reason people will still pay top money for a used ecu when a new one (other than pectel) is less money.
T6 will do more than 90% of the people need on here, but so would a £250 megasquirt, seam like a bit of pub useage to me?

I have started with no ecu or loom, the price is not a problem but with the system i have found its got so much more ( for my use) and cheaper than a lesser spec pectel T6, no brainer really.

This is the problem, the general member of the public who doesn't understand ECU's and engine control simply goes by the spec list. Comparing ECU's isn't like comparing different editions of Windows XP You don't just look at the feature list......

To be fair to Mark, I believe he is comparing with a similar ECU from a technological point of view (Motec IIRC?), but the fact that this is a current item which even supports wireless throttle, yet is still similar price to the second hand T6...

I wasn't referring to anyone inparticular.

F88 does FBW.. and i'm sure SQ6 or whatever does.

im not on about some cheap end like emerald/omex etc all though these will do the job for 95% of the people for good money, the likes of 'Life/Gems' have all the same features/functions and all the reliablity as pectel/motec for les money than a used T6 2000, i just dont get it

oh and p.s "FBW" - its not fookin chitty chitty bang bang you know

Nah its either stack or standard for me Linc! That suits a kit car only IMO, not a regularly used road car.

Waiting for Rainbird's last bits Linc (vents are here).
