Just wondered if the scanners you can get to listen in on emergency services are legal or not? Surely not illegal as you can get them in well known stores?

Most of them are, you are still able to listen to planes and traffic control

all digital now, usual junk on it still tho, firebrigade was on about 68fm but cops were never too clear or u could only hear 1 way traffic etc

All encripted now but it is an offence to listen in under the interception of information act.

it was illegal if you was using the information to a criminal advantage many years ago has this now changed then?
