Default Engine change and logbook

Just a quick question, when doing an engine change do you have to declair it on the logbook aswel as your insurance???
also if the new engine is the same CC as the old one what happens about tax???
will it be classed as in a new tax bracket or stay in the same tax bracket for the car rather than the engine???

Default

tax is the first date of registration for the vehicle
emmissions stuff is for the engine of vehicle, whichever is older
you need to declare the engine number that's the main thing so that their records are recorded as being correct, rather than you buying a cossie lump to put into your cortina and keeping the same engine numbe seeing as the blocks are the same
