you have to be a right clown to fail a cscs test.its just another scam to get more cash from the working man.
question- your working in a deep trench excavation and the walls start to give way do you 1- stand and watch or 2- escape as quickly as possible
im interested in the trifle though. what flavour? ive just had a family size sainsburys rasperry trifle all to myself.

its a basic health and safety test that you need to have passed to get to work on some of the larger contruction sites in the country.
for example, my company, even tho we are a sub contractor, works for a lot of the BIG construction companies who ask for this test to be compulsaru,
so on the 1st Nov, every fixer has to be CSCS and PASMA qualified to work for us!
PASMA is like a health and safety test for the use of scaffolds, tells you how to put them up safely and the minimum amount of handrails etc etc.
Health and Safety is the biggest concern on site, For example (again) a site that im working on at the moment have weekly health and safety meetins with all subcontractors, and there is actually a league table for the 'safest' company on site!
and no i dont think mine is winning!!

originally when the cscs idea started i read it was meant to be a system to weed out the cowboys from the competent tradesmen. in the end it became a pointless h+s scam to give more jobs to the boys and another layer of pen pushers earning a living of the working mans back.
