Hi ppl,

I own a mk2 xr2 fiesta and have recently purchased an ashley 4, 2, 1 manifold..

Which exhaust systems are available?
Which would give the best increase in power?
Where would i be able to purchase them?

and if possible could you post any links that may help me?

I had my heart set on an ashley untill I visited forums and read bad reviews saying they add little power and are just noisy etc.

I had an ashley competition on one of my old MK2 XR2s and it was the loudest thing I had heard, bloody terrable thing.

i can't find any other xr2 exhaust systems online apart from ashleys...grr

i m pretty sure magnex dont list the xr2 one anymore. alot of the older hot cars have gone off their lists. 2nd hand is prob your best bet. try ebay

Just get a 2nd hand S2 ERST one and modify it to fit, copying the standard one.

Ashleys are noisy fuckers, but were said to be best for power gains.

Hi Brian, could you tell me where you bought your scorpion system from?

I heard a subaru impreza with a janspeed system earlier today and sounded lovely, a soft low tone when it was idling and quite a bit louder when he put his foot down..just how I want mine!

I don't have a k&n filter on my xr2 so shouldn't be as loud..

i know someone selling magnex system & manifold-£220 ,on xrtwo.com,username droptop(in nottingham),peco are good on a mk2 xr2 used to love mine,and gave more umpf,sportex also are ok,just sold my sportex,ive got magnex system and manifold to go on now

Ashley systems are made of mild steel - hence the price, and noise.

I'd got for Magnex, as in my experience they always fit really nicely.

I wouldnt fit an ashley if Ashley themselves gave it to me free of charge and offered me sex with a room full of super models in exchange for me taking it away.

Total, complete, utter, rubbish.

Mine went in the bin having fallen to bits on me for the last time, gotten me in trouble with the law and generally pissed off the entire population of the town I live in.

the 4 branchs made by ashely are really bad for cracking at the joints,after 6 months of use,im selling a xr2 janspeed manifold atm if you want one,pm me

Ashleys sound great but generally don't fit that well, will crack or just fall apart with rust.
Same goes for Sportex which I'm sure are actually made by the same people.

Our XR2 came with a Janspeed, sounds sweet
If I had to choose though Magnex are the nuts, got one for my Mk3 Esc'

I had quite a few on my old Mk2 XR2. I had a Scorpion stainless system which bolted up to the original front pipe. Very well made and looked the bollocks.

I then had a Ashley 4 branch manifold which i mated to the scorpion system, but the manifold kept cracking, Pretty poor construction TBH.

In the end i went for a full janspeed manifold and system which sounded lovely and made good power.

This post put a smile on my face, I had a flashback to my old xr2 with an Ashley system many moons ago.... ha ha the noise was something else and it was LOUD!!

As been said though, shit quality

Have just ordered an ashley exhaust system from fiesta-centre, will waxoyl to reduce corrosion..

Its Peco & Magnex who've gone tiddleypop

But word on the street is Peco are reforming as are Magnex.
