thought about it. Will do in the morning! the clifford manual says if the light is on perminantly then its in valet mode, but the car is locked and will not unlock via remote????
When i had trouble with my clifford not unlocking the fob needed re-programming. The only way to dis-arm was to unlock the car and wait for 3 mins while the sirens go off. Then when they stop put the alarm into valet mode.
Not sure if you have the same problem but it might be wort a try.

Are your remote batteries in good condition ?

the batteries are good as i get the red light every time i press a button. tried the side button twice then the main button........................... no luck. I do appreciate all your ideas though , KEEP EM COMING
Which model have you got?
If you enter your code for the alarm and put it in valet mode (via the plain view switch) it should turn the alarm off (shouldn't it?) Then try reprogramming the alarm for the key fob.

the red light on the keyfob will light up, doesnt mean to say the battery has enought strength to send the signal, try a spare fob or a new battery.
one other thing and bare with me on this, try holding the keyfob up under your chin so its pointing into it (this does work, its not to make you look stupid!
) and press the botton, this is proven as on top gear and i have tried myself, the keybob actually uses you to send the signal. trust me lol
