The s16 are phase one and diff engines to the gti6 and ralley, the s16 are not spoze to be a very strong engine and have alot of problems, they are 155 bhp compared to the 167bhp of the gti6, the s16 only has 5 gears and dosnt rev as hard, get a gti6, much better than the s16 imo

as everyone else has already said gti6 is muh better car for the money.
but if its only for a track car id go for a xsara vts.same chassis and engine as the gti6 and brakes and can get alot newer cars for the same money as the gti6.only different thing really is they havent got the 6 speed box or half leather but they drive excactly the same

prefer the phase 1 cars over the newer ones tbh.
had a 8v xsi and loved it, that handled wel, would understeer if you wanted it too tho then have loads of lift off oversteer
was great fun to throw round.
the s16 is an alloy block mi16 engine so is a good lump tbh... just getting on a bit now
