my egt sensor is in the downpipe bout 2 inches behind the turbo and saw peak temp of 880 c after blasting about and then 167, im worried if fuel pump is struggling abit at top end
should i be worried ?

It's too hot really for a non-247 turbo. You'll only know if the fuel pump is struggling if you put a fuel pressure gauge on it and monitor.

i may have to get one or a afr monitor. if it is running running lean at the top that would cause increased exhaust temp wouldnt it ?

Would of thought so yes, but if that temps about right for a 167 run then no.
Surely some of the MAD boys would know the sort of temps you can expect to see?

Yes, running lean will usually increase EGT. So will running the ignition too retarded. So will excessive TIP. So will lots of things
If the compression ratio is low enough, the ports big enough, the turbo big enough and the mapping right, you shouldnt have an issue

Carlo , I think he more talking about fuel pres. than the voltage to the pump.

highest it used to see was 820 c few months ago then gauge started dicking about so just put new sensor on and saw 880 c
the only thing thats changed since it was mapped is the map sensor as it failed.

Is it the same sensor as before? The gauges and sensors are usually matched to each other. If you used a different make sensor then it will give a different reading on the gauge.

why have you got an EGT gauge without an AFR gauge?
surely the results of EGT are so reliant on AFR that you need to look at them together in context?

The parts of the map (and the transient control strategies) when you lift off the throttle are nowhere near the parts of the map when you're flat out, so unrelated completely.
