Default Screen burn!!!

Hi all

Got a 50" plasma, only had it about a month. I have been watching a bit of discovery turbo lately, perhaps an hour every now and then, and I now notice on any other channel, when there is a white image on the screen I can see the turbo logo in the top corner

Can anything be done about it? Surely this should not have happened after a month of light use?

Rich

Ive got a samsung 50" plasma and i had it around 3 months and got screen burn in the top corner of the turbo symbol, also when pushing the i button on the sky remote in the time it took me to read about the program i was watching it would burn the screen, so i called the engineer out and he said its unrepairable without a new screen and its not covered by warranty, so i took it back to the shop and said what had happened and they gave me a brand new one which was a newer version so i was lucky, i made up some story about the setting etc and it worked for me.

I like my blacks black and my whites white, hence why i didn't go for an LCD...

The Plasma we have at work suffers from severe burn where it is mostly left on sky sports news all day.... although saying that when i play on the xbox at work and i'm playing PGR the speedo burns into the screen as well!

One of the reason why I did not get a Plasma!

Until the technology improves, I'm staying with LCD.

Cheers for all the help!! I have looked into it quite a bit, and it seems that the plasma in a new telly will show very bright for the first 1000 hours, then it will dull down a bit. The screen burn I am seeing is just accelerated dimming, and hopefully after a few more hours, the rest of the picture should kinda catch up with it! I have turned the brightness and contrast right down on it now, and hopefully it will be ok!

Phil - yeah i know, 2nd one fucked in just over as many months

Cheers all!

LOL, don't you love the "advancements" in technology?

I have CRT TV, and it has proper blacks, proper whites, in fact proper all colours, and no screen burn! Imagine that eh!?!?
