Default TDCI Mondeos

I'm looking to replace my mk2 ST-24 daily driver with a mk3 TDCI.

I've lined up a couple to go and see at the weekend, a 130 Ghia and a 115 LX, both around the £3k mark, both 6sp, with history and apparently in good nick.

Is the difference between the 115 and 130 motors like night and day? (the youth reckons the 115 isn't worth bothering with )

Also is the 115 much more economical than the 130? I'm thinking I could live with 15 less horsepower if there's a noticeable increase in economy!!

Cheers all

Neil.

Go for the 130 if there's not much in it price wise. It's nicer to drive, and while the extra 15bhp isn't really noticeable the extra 33lb-ft torque is!

Sorry, the 130 Ghia has the 5sp box.

The 115 LX is facelift with park assist, climate and so on. Looking at it, it has more toys than the ghia

We have had our Mondeo 130 TDCi for about 4 months now and it is excellent getting around 46mpg around town and on motorway drive 4 up we are geting around 50mpg

Just check make sure the passenger footwell isnt damp as they leak water in from the pollen filter behind the scuttle panel
