Morning Sickness that lasts all day???
Hi all,
Does anyone have a cure for morning sickness? We are about 8 weeks in and its arrives in the morning and stays all day!! I know that it is supposed to pass on its own but I wondered if anyone knew any tried and tested remedies that work? All the stuff you can buy at the chemist says not for use in pregnancy unless advised by your doctor and I am not seeing the doctor till next week.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

my wife is now 8 months and 3 days gone and had morning sickness (the name is a joke lol) for im afraid the first 4 months !!!
she found nothing to cure it and felt ill 24 hours a day, and the only reason it started to feel not as bad was she got used to it sorry.
the only thing that made her feel slightly better was eating/ chewing food she spent the first 4 months eating alot lol
not sure if you know about it but there is pregnacy site called bounty
www.bounty.com
they have alot of good info and a forum where you can chat and get answers
good luck with the pregnacy

Thank you for the link, I'll have a look at that, its causing me problems because I can't eat hardly anything at all (most things I eat make me sick now, woe is me) and I can only eat tiny amounts of the things that don't make me sick (coco pops and cheese mostly, though not together) 4 months
Only 12 weeks to go then lol.

My wife also had it till about week 23 or 24. And it was usually in the middle of the night
Something that needs to be endured apparently. Mrs Rab found that a glass of pure OJ before bed was a big help.

Sarah had all day sickness with Finley and found that the seabands you get from boots helped a bit, theyre safe in pregnancy too cos theyre just about acupressure points. Also eating little and often, dry toast seemed to help

Ginger made mine worse, but i got Ginger capsules from holland and barrett, but they repeated on me.
It does tend to subside around week 12 though, so hopefully it will wear off soon enough

Everyone told me Labour would be this, and that, and it'd be the hardest thing I would have to do as a husband.... Pah...
Piece of piss. My miss was so stoned on gas and air and diamorphine that all I had to to was stand there for 7 hours then cut the cord when she arrived

I feel for you. Nicole had this real bad. So bad she ended up on a drip for 2 days at the hospital because she couldnt eat at all.
"Morning Sickness"
The name is a pisstake, but get yourself to hospital and they CAN give you something for it that helps. It helped Nicole and they said she was one of the most serious cases they have seen for years.

i don't know what all the fuss is about
women get to eat what they like, then they throw it up, you get to sit down on the bus, get someone to load the shopping up for you, get to do nothing at work because you are "with child" etc etc, get doped up to the eyeballs to avoid any sort of pain when they give birth and then don't let anyone take pics of you looking monged afterwards
and then, they get loads of time off work afterwards because they need to recover and all they do is sit there with the baby watching jeremy kyle
us blokes have to put up with their nagging, a ban on sex for 4 years, them being tired all night, no cooked meals, no washing done, baby stinkies clogging up the bins and baby sick on our shirts just when we are latest for work in the mornings, unable to watch telly because baby programs are on, and then they sit around in groups talking baout how shit we are and are all a bucnh of bastards at parent groups
but none of that matters when baby holds your finger with their delcate little hands, they start cooing at you, dribble and melt your hearts when they smile
then all the poo in the world and milky mess all over your shirts don't matter and we love you

As Stu has said i suffered badly throughout my entire pregnancy, right up untill i gave birth and it just went away about 24 hours after the birth!!
I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum which is a severe form of sickness in pregnancy and i was hospitalised with it and put on an IV for fluids and essential vitamins. I lost over a stone in weight in the first 4 months, then i was put on tablets from the consultant but these were a last resort as i didn't want to take anything. But they insisted i take the medication or i wouldn't be able to go home!!!
The tablets worked well for me but if i forgot to take one i knew about it!
I feel for you as it can be really difficult and nothing seemed to work for me, but fingers crossed it fades for you after 12 weeks or so....
