You're wrong, they're right.

The only POSSIBLE way would be to go to your local DVLA office, but I doubt they'd be any help either.

Otherwise its wait for your new ins cert.

Being computerised taxing it online would show it as insured, no?

Depends if his insurance company has notified the MIB.

Also, does the log book state the new reg? if not, then the DVLA may not of updated their systems either?

If its a recent change, then its hit n miss that the above has been done.

Also, taxing it on line and using the car could result in a failure to display

I got with my tax last year, couldnt get it done online as dvla hadnt processed the info for new owner yet and i hadnt received the insuranec certificate for the post office. Eventually got it done online, but from taking my car back onto the road to go collect tax disc from house i stop at the gf's and get done for failure to display! That rule is the biggest pile of shite ever, they even have camera's which clock you on the system without tax so why do they do you if it aint in the window even though the computer says you taxed! Total c*nts!

I take it your tax ran out end of September then hence the panic?

I would've done it online, comes through within a few days, course you'll still get done for not showing a valid tax disc if unlucky

but if you go to the dvla office they won't

you need all the proper docs to get tax from someone in person, been there done that, it's a pain in the are having wasted 3.5 hours getting ther, waiting in line, being told no, calling the insurance company, being told no fax, thengoing home
