series 1 any day , had an r5 for a while, and loved it, back roads and anything twisty it was great, but in my opinion, an rs turbo is justa better class of car, good luck making your mind up tho, alot of strong opinions on this topic!!!

depends what u want 2 different cars, rst more piratical and easy to get up to 200 bhp from
r5's look cool but i think u gotta spend money to get good power, that said a 200bhp r5 would be fast cos there so small
i'd but an RST easyer to get its for and cheap to tune, nearly everyone can tune them

I've never really liked the look of r5's to be honest but they are growing on me
Can't argue that they are fast either but I love my s2

Personally I love the R5 and as said above cheap to get parts and fairly cheap to run and with the corect fueling and decent charge temps alot of power can be had from the litte 1.4 pushrod engine.
24psi and a VNT turbo with plenty of other mods saw me to a nice 239bhp and 257lbft of torque which isn't bad for a 1.4.
