And what people seem to be missing is the fact that yes, maybe he didnt go out to deliberately kill the lad, he did deliberately punch him for saying " no mate i dont" which imo is flipping ridiculous anyway.

Was the fella on remand before the trial?, this may account for the 18 month sentance as he may have spent time in prison awaiting trial, i say prison but its more like a holiday camp .

Yes and no. Stiff sentences for guns (5 years for possestion) doesn't seen to deter those who want to do it.
End of the day, you can glam this up how you like, it was a freak accident. I have seen people not even go to prison for killing somebody when driving, as until recently there was either death by dangerous (for bad driving), or the next step down was driving without due care and attention, which you cannot have a custodial sentence for.
Now that WAS an injustice. Now it has changed though

The problem with a lot of the law is- It is so outdated, some laws are actually 100+ years old and do not reflect current society. Some of the judges live on a different planet and are severely out of touch with reality.
An Example of some crazy English Laws:
1. It is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament.
2. it is an act of treason to place a postage stamp bearing the British monarch upside down.
3. Under the UKs Tax Avoidance Schemes Regulations 2006, it is illegal not to tell the taxman anything you dont want him to know, though you dont have to tell him anything you dont mind him knowing.
4. In the UK, a man who feels compelled to urinate in public can do so only if he aims for his rear wheel and keeps his right hand on his vehicle.
5. In London, it is illegal to flag down a taxi if you have the plague.
Please note, these most likely are not enforced.

SORRY TO HEAR THIS SARAH. and yes the jails are full ,think it cos they get an easy life in side now.1 of my mates has been in and out for 15 years now and he says its the best life he has had .roof and food ,thats all he wants .i think if the screws weret easy on the in mates most of them would not got back in side .you have got to remember most screws are dodgey cunts them selves.R.I.P.

He should have considered the fact he wouldn't be able to see his kids before he decided to be a complete waste of fucking space.

Yea his father is in jail for strangling his partner to death, and his brother i cant remember under what circumstances he got charged i cant quite remember,
Its ridiculous to think that John Darwen got 6yrs for fraud yet someone who murdered someone gets 18mths. Wheres the justification in that?
