The ECU type does not restrict your power. FACT !

L6 is fine, L8 is better in that it can reduce your fuel consumption for off boost conditions.

Any ECU can deliver any power providing the engine and all its components can deliver the goods !

hello,so level 6 will be ok?I dont want to have to spend over Ł200 on the level 8 along with the TPS change of about Ł60 if i dont have to,not really worried about off boost fuel economy as i dont use the car that much to worry. But please explain why upgrading to a level 8 with improve the fuel economy?

Whit the L8 Stu from motorspot developments can give you a chip to run cloosedloop.
This is whit a lambdasensor that masures the exhaust gas.

LOL, engines were producing more than 200 bhp before ecu's were invented !!!

L8 gets better fuel consumption because it has the ability to run closed loop fuelling when connected to an oxygen sensor (HEGO sensor).

Providing you get a chip from a reputable supplier like MSD / BAJOO etc.. then you will end up with high power without excessive fuel consumption.
This is because they pay attention to detail and do things right.!
