Default PF watch experts.... opinions on this rolex?

this was my grandads... its from around the end of the war i think.....

i'm not looking to sell it but i've never seen one like it.

thoughts of the watch experts on here? i don't its particularly special... but most oysters seem to have a date window and roman numerals...

pretty bad pics i know....

i had it serviced around 12 yrs ago so i know its geninue...

i'd really like to know a bit more about it.. can't find it on any watch website.

thanks

well its a old one if that helps pmsl

theres loads of info about on the net on em if you got the time, i spend AGES looking at em, got REALLY confused with it also but then it started to sink in

theres usually a guide if the things that date the watches on these sites such as when they intrduced the date windows ect ect ect

happy looking

ps: we gotta meet up again one day, aint seen you for years

hi mate,

i did spend about 3hrs early this week trawling through the net looking at pics.. agreed they are very confusing! all banging on about the different mechs used inside them... i was hoping somebody who knows alot more about them than me would recognise it.

and yes - would be good to meet up has ages. still remember taking the sierra up to stus place? that was a while back it hadn't been setup since then! had it done about 2 months ago. fuel pump and wiring and fan wiring and setup. didn't realise how much slower it had got over the years.. flying now tho

off this wknd so i think i ll get it out and have a blast....

hope you and yours are doing alright mate.

fancy an ace cafe meet next ford night if its not raining? thats nice and local

i've got a tag heuer and it's about 4 year's old, the top of the tree from the link series.

i cant fuck all about the watch or pic's anywhere

i know it's not dodgy as the missus bought me it for my b/day few years ago, even when i go in the shop i'm treated like fucking royalty

but can i bollock's find anything on the net about them

so as a post war rolex, have fun mate!

Read recently that Rolex was based in London originally but moved to Switzerland for tax reasons in 1940s I think. Pointless trivia maybe but I never knew that!
