i can see what your saying, M3's are hard work to get more power from, but if you throw the right money in the right places, you can get insane power from them, 1000bhp is no problems

Mate ive had them all, they are a bit chavvy no matter what, the fact that any chump can pick up a cheap saff running 30 psi on a t3 for 3k doesnt help

Its rapid man, i tell you !

Blimey... what a small world! I remember you it was a lovely cossie, and yes to be honest with you I do regret selling it, but I love the M3 soooo much, now we have a little one, I was looking at something 4 door, but as the mrs says she has got her car for that! I think I just get bored too easy.. :-( it doesnt help when someone takes me out in a 520bhp evo 8.. I just couldnt stop smiling ..
I suppose I could spend 4k on a supercharger kit for the M3 then that will have 500bhp!!!! mmmmmm lol..

If there is anyone with an Evo 8 that wants a nice M3 pm me... lol..

Oh and as for how easy it is to get more power out of the bm, it really is not that hard, but as said you have to spend money in the right places!! and with the right people!

I have just got rid of my escort cosworth and bought an E46 M3, fantastic car, totally different animal from the cossie. It, so far, is probably the best car iv owned. The SMG versions are just as good, if not better than the manual version, mastering the paddles can be fun plus you have a build in launch control feature with the SMG though its not advised to use it to often (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ENCF...eature=related)

Overall its a great car, but i think youd need to have a shot in both before you decide

Good luck..

If you want to have fun on the road, without having to worry about the car ---> EVO.
If you want to drive in the expensive streets of London with nice black glasses ---> M3

Sorry, but I see so many more evo drivers at night cruising around the local town/city centres with the windows down and the radiop up as loud as can be.

The M3 had the estate agent thing going on but thats cleared and they all fucked off to Audi so all good again

Well, here Evos drivers aren't driving in the busy streets with loud music and tinted windows down, but they aren't "fast-driving" in the moutain either. Just pussies

I guess it depends of where you live, but the Evo wasn't made to cruise in the street aka US-style. More something for the M3. Not a bad thing, but 2 different styles. And yeah I would get an Audi rather than a BMW, but this is another story

Yea, I see your point, which is also right lol. There in Switzerland M3s are just live Rover in the UK I would say Those who are "showing themself" in the streets are either 18years old drivers with their 1997-8 M3 because its their first car, or the 30 years old men, working at the bank with the latest M3 lol.

Get an Evo5 !

yeah I must admit, we have the same here with the E36 cars, but if you look very close, not many are real M3's, just 318is with body kit and wheels.

I find most of the boy roys around here have jap (scoobie, nissan)

ive never driven an evo....

but theyre 2 totally different cars that do different things, so you cant really directly compare them.

either one or the other will suit you

I personally found the M3 to be the best car for me, and miss it now it's gone. i dont think i'd want an Evo over one, but thats just me

Yes u can.

Unburned fuel exploding in an exhaust manifold doesn't require a turbo.
