My misses has an N73, funnily enough I thought it was better than a newer N80wotsit phone a mate had.

Dunno anything about the N96 but it'll have to be pretty damn good to be a worthy upgrade. (for the misses, I'll just have her old one )

 

As phones go, its pretty dam insane! 16gb memory, built in tv etc etc!!

I didn't think it was available til the 1st? i will have one, i've been tempted by an iphone....but i am VERY happy with my original N95 which has lasted perfectly for 18 months.

its been released today by nokia.ive had mines on pre order for a while so one of the first to a get a genuine uk model

 

i think originally they set 2 dates 24/9/08 for London and 1/10/08 for the rest of the UK

just rang phones4u and they said we have no phone4u

seriously they said the official release is the 1st, but the networks will get them next week to put software on them and then roll them out.

Even tho I have my iPhone now, I'm slightly interested in getting one of these just to play around with it as it seems to be the most hyped phone of late - I wanna see what all the fuss is about!

Im used to a Samsung D900 and a very old Nokia, so not used to all this new technology in phones! I will be using it for browsing the net and playing my music. Any other features are a bonus

 

if you want fancy gimmicks go for a iphone, if you want a phone that doe what a phone should do then nokia.

iphone is good for web browsing but pretty much useless as a phone as std, unless you add 3rd part apps. its having alot of problems with true 3G where as the nokia is HSPDA (3.5g)
and the fact to use it to its ful potential you have to use ITUNES

ive had both and id stick with nokia

 

loving that n96.my upgrade isnt due to end of year hopefully o2 will drop the price.i do have a n95 at the mo althought ive bricked it but swapping housing to a black one lol.stuck with a 6680 til phone is fixed lol

i want the n96 too, but my contracts not up for a while. I'll be interested to see what the google phone is like, as in my experiance the problem with these things is that they could do all these really sweet things IF someone would make the software work and google are likely to support this really well. It'll be a toss up between the two, though I did say I wasnt buying anything appart from nokia after my last smartphone.

I'm just interested to see if the"gPhone" is going to come out at all. It's been "almost" out, and even "out next week/month" for over 2 years now

It has the potential to be superb, but as you say, it's down to the software and support. Google have opened the software up to developers, just like the iphone, tho to be fair, a bit more open source than Apple allowed, so there should be good variety, but that does slow everything down in terms of getting it finalised and launched as everything needs submitting, testing and approval....

Keen to see it in action tho

 

Should have mine today, only problem is I'm at work and it's being delivered to home.

I prefer the look of the n85 to be honest duw out in a few weeks.

Looks better than the n96 and has USB charging and an FM transmitter (can play your tunes throught your radio) which are both not on the n96

only down side is no touch screen, does the n96 have this ?

i love my iphone,internet on the move is ace and really easy to type from on the touch screen,also now got the ipod cradle for incar wireless music with remote well cool lol when you dont have an inbuilt mp3 player.
