Default going to USA with a criminal record? LOOKS LIKE MEXICO AGAIN!

hi guys

we plan to go miami in march next year, but when i spoke to our sales rep she asked if we had criminal records, i said "i wasnt sure"

problem is one of them has a ABH on his name and another drink driving, will we still be allowed into the country? none of them have been to prison though, only one done community service!

is there anything or anyone i can do/call?

You'll have to goto London to get a visa from the US embassy. With any conviction that'll be on your record... specially drink driving as they specially hate

If you get stopped at Customs in the US and they find out your conviction they'll just chuck you on a flight straight back home no questions asked.

Will waste a shit load of your money but they won't give a fuckin toss they will be doing their job!

Does your internet connection only let you view Passionford.com?

A simple google search would give you a link to the US Embassy, which would then give you all of the details you need.

I wouldn't normally pull anybody up on this, but you ask more questions than Anne Robinson!!

i know someone that went in January , he had a few different charges against him from 10-12 years ago. Had to go to the police station and pay for a copy of your record ( all charges listed and the date and so on ) then apply to the embassy for a a visa , 1 of the charges was offensive weapon / firearm and some theft charges , got granted a visa . When he arrived in America got kept behind at customs and read the riot act , but all in all not to bad .

Just take a look at the Visa form....nightmare !!!!

I guess their intentions are good with all this crap, but all its doing is making it awkward for genuine people to get into the US for a holiday.

Very hypocritical, when they allow former terrorists who pretend to be politicians from our country into the US.

What, like Nelson Mandela?

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and, without defending any man, organisation or terrorist act, they had more right to be in their country than we did.

Getting too political here.....but you couldnt believe a word from his mouth anyway..

He may regard himself as Irish, and he could well be..but for someone who hates the British, he isnt shy about taking money with the Queens head on it at every opportunity.

Fact remains, he is/was a terrorist, and has travelled to the US on a few occasions since all the travel rules were tightened up.

There are only 2 US Embassy's in the UK, one in Belfast, and one in London.

Bit of a nightmare if you need a Visa.

Ive been arrested for attempted murder, but not charged, why the fuck should it count against me when Ive not been charged.

Fair enough I can understand they have a right to know what you have been found guilty of, but I dont think it should count when its merely a case of being arrested for something, the police arrest and question people ALL the time simply to eliminate them from their enquiries and lots of these people are totally innocent and hence are never charged.

I went for a month and don't recall having to get a visa etc.. but could have as my brain isnt what it used to be.. I just ticked the no convictions box.. and got away with it

Australia on the other hand was a bit of a mare... I told the truth which led to several week wait for a verdict.. thankfully they said yes..
