ive got windows media 11 on the computer and its also got divx downloaded so divx vids play thru WM11 no probs , but i got a .avi file the other day and im sure it should play ok thru WM11 but its saying problem etc codecs etc .

ive got an extra codec pack i download a while ago aswell called K-Lite codecs .

if i cant play it in WM11 , then what do i need to play a .avi file ??

If you get a file that won't play natively in WMP, you should be given the option to download the codec required via WMP to play it. WMP plays all .avi files I throw at it (divx/xvid/other)

If you still can't get it to work, then either VLC (as mentioned), Media Player Classic, or Zoomplayer will play pretty much any file, and are all free....

cant really get on with nero . so i took it off . if i install the classic player , which ive done before , how do i get it so it isnt the default player ? cos last time i installed it to play a vid , everything i tryed playing kept opening up the media classic and using that as the player .
