What a load of clueless idiots

thought i'd have a look at how much boost is safe to run as standard and some of the technical replies are staggeringly awful i totally see where stavros is coming from when he talks about clueless fuckwits on other forums

ps anyone know what boost is considered safe on a rev2 MR2 Turbo?

How much is safe to run?

Exactly as I have set it.

Don't be tempted to start playing around - the car is setup to be as reliable as possible.

im having no part of this, even if you run safe AFR's you'll end up overspinning the turbo or something, dont fuck about with it, just drive it.

this is EXACTLY why I told you not to get a turbo car!

IIRC, from the few days I visited IMOC (when I had an MR2), the MR2 internet expert committee use hacks to remove the boost cut and increase boost as a first-instance modification.

Jim, not got my wideband with me this week I dont think, will have to dig around the boot later and have a look.

no worries then, can do that for you, but im sure it must be safe anyway if PON has been giving it large on the current settings!

They work fine, they just "lie" on the map sensor signal a little to prevent the ecu seeing an overboost condition, it doesnt do any harm as they are mapped against the airflow meter, so it doesnt make them go lean or overly advanced or anything, providing you only increase the boost a little, as it has headroom in the standard map to cope.

Im sure PON isnt a total idiot, and Im sure what he has done is safe, just drive it.

See, I fucking told everyone............. MORONS....

Jim, in my experience, 12psi ought to be safe. NO more though. And uprate the intercooler as the OE one is crap.

And if you want to ask techincal questions then http://www.tbdevelopments.com/forum/

It's a shop, where all folk that have been banned or got pissed off with that MR2OC hang out. Luckily most of them actually know stuff about the mechanicals of their MR2s as opposed to which fucking bodykit fits best
