Default Strangle electronic problem? or dead battery?

Hi,

A few weeks ago I let my 2 tresholds be replaced (rear), by cutting and welding (and painting). https://passionford.com/forum/pictures-video-and-photoshop-forum/251226-dutch-saph-2wd-rotten-side-treshold-replaced.html

Afterwards I found out that my battery is almost "dead" several times, it now even didn't start after being 3 weeks on the "batterysaver" (slowly charger).

It could be that my battery's terrible and needs replacement, but i also found out that my interior lighting acts strange. It doesn't respond to any of the 4 de/activators in de doors. Switching if up and down both let's the interior light on all the time, and the middle let's it stay out, none of the 3 settings react to the doors.

Does any have some hints what to look for, or would it be just a dead battery?

many thanks and greets from holland,
Cris

btw it's a saph 2wd

Sounds like the interior light is draining the battery. Probably the alarm wiring fault or a door switch.

I would take the bulb out for a few days, recharge the battery and see if things get better.

I don't have an alarm, only an "starting-interruptor" (I think it's called an immobilizer in english).

I'll unmount my battery and load with a whole night, see what happens to tomorrow.
To know if it's the battery. Thanks for the hints

You have almost certainly melted one of the rear door interior light switch cables, which will be earthing out on the bodyshell and keeping the interior light relay energised......

take both switches out of the "B" pillars and check the wiring isnt melted to the back of the pillar.....

that's a good question, I'll ask the bodyshop monday.
now loading the battery out of the car, if it starts without problems tomorrow, definitely there's some malfunction and I'll remove the interior light switches..

how do I do that, do you mean the black pin's that are pushed in when the doors are closed?
