Stop Press....Jim Gallbally in World Record Bus Jumping Attempt

one engine was a mates skyline gtst, after about 4 or 5 laps of combe i had propery cooked the brakes, so was basically pootling round.
after exiting quarry i noticed a big puff of white smoke, so eased off and came into the pits. let it tick over for about 15 mins and then stu parked it up.
the fucker wouldnt restart tho lol
basically had no compression on 4 out of 6 cylinders.
stripped the enigne apart and the ring lands were cracked off of those pistons...
a mate who was there on the day later told me that he had said the enigne was rattling before he got there, he had put a stage 2 turbo on, and a welding tip inline with the actuator to increase boost.... and wonders why its cunted lol
i helped with the rebuild with my time etc, and very little money from me, as i simply didnt have any while working for fast ford lol.
its all done now tho lol
the second was a group n fez st press car, only one in europe ans i was told not to break it lol.
it was on pirelli p6000 tyres, and after a good 8 laps or so of silverstone they went off royally, i almost binned it 2 laps straight on the same corner i was previusly taking flat out, so was doing a cool down lap up until the last corner, when it made a funny noise and died...i was doing about 30mph at this point, so not over revved.
ford reckoned the wrong gear was selected, but that was impossible.
steve scott said that the fez st doesnt use keys on the cam pulleys, like athe zetecs, and its quite common for the pullys to slip.
only needed 16 new valves lol

Personally, I think you've got to be mad to let someone else drive your car on track, especially with limited RWD experience in the wet! The ONLY two people who would drive my car on track no matter what car would be Porkie or Mike R, but that's from knowing them, and experience.
However, fair play to owning up - lesser people could easily have tried to avoid taking full responsibility.
Harsh though Jim. Another M3 I reckon.....

MArtin Reyland, Porkie, Maria and other people who helped, its people like you guys that make coming on Passionford and the whole car seen worthwhile.
Helping out and doing what you did.
Hats off to you all, and im sorry if i missed anyone.
It could have been any of us in that situation, i must admit a few times round coombe i closed my eyes with rattys driving and we could have been in the same position

This is the reason i declined Jim's offer of me driving his car round Donnington at Nat Day, I have no experience of RWD and with my driving style i would have ended up in the same position.
Also the reason why only selected people get the keys to my car LOL
But having said that full respect to RST in Prog for taking it on the chin and doing the right thing

Helen, I dont blame you there, Ive driven Jim's car on track, but not sure I would have wanted to in the wet and greasey conditions that were at silverstone yesterday by all accounts.

There is not many peoples cars i would drive on track if i'm honest as you can get a bit over excited when out there. And like you say with the conditions not been the best, defo for me in a RWD would end in tears

morning all
necks a tad sore thismorning, but probably nothing to worry about, can possibly bunk a few days off work for it tho result
now we're in to the day after i need to look at the sensible side and work out what it will cost to replace the car, and it's depressing me already so any help appreciated.
