Default considerations to use an everyday car for the track

Due to kaz needing a motor as from April ish next year i am gonna be sing my RS turbo to smoke to work and back, (actually i am well happy with the RS as an everyday car ) but I dont want a stripped out track car so the carpets and seats are gonna be put back, and rollcage sold, but what considerations should be made in order to use the car as a daily driver and also to cane on the track? I am gonna get it set up and the fit a boost switch so that driving to work will be on low (ish) boost only and then use high boost for the track, need to put back the seatbelts as i cant see a thing in the harnesses, but dunno if theres any other considerations i should think of

I use my car on the track as do many others, and TBH it is a big compromise. As long as the car has good suspension, brakes and is serviced regularly.

I would consider not crashing it... it 'may' not be that good as an everyday car if its been wrapped around some armco and on its roof at a track the day before

Only joking, as Chris says it is a huge compromise but just take it easy and you should be able to have fun on track and still use the car. It MUST be serviced and checked MUCH more regularly though and avoid really sticky slicks or track tyres as they will put extra pressure on everything.

Only problem you face is if you break something, or engine lets go, or turbo lets go or something like that on track your snookered for work.

Thats why a work car doesnt make a good track car, becuase you can guarantee if you need it for work it will break on a sunday track session just so you cant get to work monday

Yes... called Sods law. Trailer your car to a Trackday and the fooker would survive a nuclear holocaust...

Drive it there and you can guarantee somethings going to break and you are going home on the back of a Big yellow and black truck

Actually tho I think the cars in more danger with me working on it than it is being caned on the track, so if it can survive my DIY then it must be bulletproof

if it breaks then kaz will be without a car for a while
