I empathise with radders here!! There isnt a lot of work out there!!! Ive been looking over 4 months now and despite good qualifications and skills and being prepared to do shite packing jobs, i STILL cant find work and thats with tailored CV's for each job and coaching on interview skills etc in a job finding project!!! IM having to go on work placements just so i can get a reference from within an industry im applying to in the hope a few weeks unpaid expereince will help!!

living at home all you would need is a couple of months salary to pay back Ł600 just for part time work

Im not kidding!! Ive experience in supervising/management and ive applied for the full spectrum of work from bottom line retail up to my normal work level in a range of industrys and sectors. Ive written over 200 speculative letters now and applied to almost 100 jobs, most of them using a tailored cv and letter with professional advice from the project i use locally to ensure i target them right!!! The big problem is i have lots of skills and experience i cant use due to mental health issues and the ongoing treatment is such that employers need to be aware and it seems they just dont want the risk or hassle for any jobs with responsibility and the lower level jobs wont take me on because of quals leading them to believe i wont be committed and would just move on in a month or so. Its a bit catch 22. Luckily B&Q and the NHS want to interview me for a few positions so hopefully fingers crossed!!! Just a few dummy interviews at the project left now!!

I suspect a bit of embarassment and shame hasnt helped the situation leading to lack of communication. Easily done when your perfect plans get fucked up and you just dont have the answers to solve the debt!

I got a job a few months ago in the city, where they are laying off people left right and centre!
If you look hard enough..... register with agencies, get out and about etc..... Posting on here aint gonna get you a job. It isn't easy, but you have to devote every hour of the day to it.
Oh, and a reliable source

It is VERY difficult for ex-forces personell to find work in civillian life. This is why there are so many orginisations for finding work for them, all government sponsored. I know for a fact, that some employers won't employ ex forces people because they think they are about to go bonkers and wreck the place.
I can sympathise with radders, as he's struglling to get work, but can also sympathise with Lee for being out of pocket.
Bit of a sad situation really, and not something everyone ought to be sticking their oar in about......

Ł650 over 9 months (39 weeks) That only equates to Ł16.66 per week to pay back. Surely if your out of work you'll be getting jobseekers allowance or income support which will be a lot more than Ł16!
