Default Astra 2.0 Turbo's

Right ho...

Time for a change of car- stupid car rules at work

I need to have something of a certain age about 53 year will do nicely, want something not flashy or expensive as my car goes anywhere and everywhere- somet about 200bhp.

Thinking of the Astra Turbo's to replace my Lean Cupra which is just above 200bhp.

What models do they do this engine in as I'd prefer the hatchback than the coupe...
Easy to tune to say 250bhp? Cost? By doing what?
Reliable?
What do I need to know?

Cheers

Astra GSI's, my mates got one, hes on here actually so no doubt will reply on this post.

Been out in it a couple of times, its about 240bhp. Totally standard just got some Astra VXR bits on, injectors etc.

Nice car, and goes very well too! I was very suprised with it.

Why aren't u allowed to have a Leon at work? Surely they'd prefer you to have a VAG group car with nice interior to an astra?

I agree - and if it's for work most firms don't allow anything over 5 years old anyway. Seat is a far batter car IMO.

A mate of mine has the astra gsi and another mate has a zafira gsi, i like both cars a lot but not the most reliable cars in the world imo.The zafira has done 45,000 miles and had to have a turbo and a full engine rebuild and the astra always has engine management light issues. Both take the piss out of my octavia vrs but i have never had 1 single problem with it

Leons getting too old now as is 02... need somet a little newer and I quite like the Astra GSI things..

As for VAG build quality etc- its wank.. the leon is 100% shit. They leak through the doors as standard from the factory.

And as for work..... for company cars I get a choice of Focus/Mondeo 1.6/1.8 or a 307 size pug... or £4250 pa before tax....

You do the math.
