Default Bathrooms - well it is general discussion ;)

Finally booted my lodger out so I can crack on with my new bathroom.........

I know a few guys on here have done the same recently so wondered if anyone has a recommendation for an online/retail outlet for bathroom suites!?! other than b&q MFI etc.

Cheers,
Dan

mine is still a work in progress

got my white goods from the bathstore in the sale and all taps and fittings from crosswater via a local builders merchant

cabinets are homebase, as is bath/shower screen

tiles from a local tile specialist and matching grout/sealer from another local specialist

In all honesty.....you can get an average priced suite and put some really nice taps on it, and it will look expensive

victoria plumb, they do have a few bad reviews online if you search, more parts missing or broken and them taking ages to replace with me onesm, but quality seems ok not the best but the prices are very good. I see you agree bath store is very expensive, most of the gear is made in the same place, or atleast its exactly the same, bathstore don't even hold stock at out local place and some gear was about 3 times the price of victoria plumb.

spot on,

try "Bathstore.com" for V.good ideas, We use "Stuart plumbing" for service and price (local to us Narborough/Hinckley), "Travis perkins" have a decent range at prices you can beat them down on(trade accounts)

and Porcelanosa if you have more money than sense, SOoooo over prices its unreal, how do they trade?!?!? Good for ideas though... £1500 for a shower rose anybody

Infact, ask Christian ANYTHING to do with DIY and he will have a fully comprehensive answer!

Hell, half his post count is to do with DIY

When I had my bathroom redone just before Christmas I looked around and ended up getting my suite from B&Q, they start at about £130 for the crappy "shell" cheap suite, I think I paid £680 for my suite, seems pretty good quality. Added a Mira shower too.

Which had to be promptly replaced
