dont know if its in this thread somewhere but whats your spec/expected power?
high 9s compression ratio st170 head with vvt ,inlet plenum and exhaust manifold (i made),t34.48 turbo, cossie pump front mountcooler, sard fpr, and around 300hp@ the wheels
I'm not chasing a power figer but if anyone is genuinely interested in it just but fast ford in November and you will see what is capable of.
Chasing figures is another story, i would be interested to see the graph and figures of your build though mate im not stirring shit, BUT im most certainly not waiting till November...
i wont because im a retard and my compression ratio is far to high to do 300@ the wheels lol
and the inlet that i made is shit and so is the exhaust manifold
i know the first part of this post was aimed at me, but i assumed the last half was aimed at you pa_sjo so i'm not dragging you into anything... you're already in it

you were right about the first bit but you have lost me with the rest .
been down to jam and had a lengthy chat with jamie and it was a rod/bearing failer not the pump !! all 4 big ends spun so if it was oil pressure the main caps would be fu*ked aswell and they are mint . so feel free to still call me a retard or a complete fucking idiot or what ever else you were all calling me at the end of the day its all fixed now and i couldn't give a toss as long as it doesn't happen again.
Looking at those pictures I doubt the rods were at fault and if they were incorrectly machined it should have been picked up before the engine was assembled.
Btw main bearings tend to last longer than big ends when the oil pressure is low.

agreed, mains take the least force. The bearings don't just turn like that in an instant either! It must have been knocking like hell for a while before it seized .
apparently, jamsport built it,then it failed, jamsport blamed the customer supplied rods, and charged him again to rebuild it and use cossy rods.
or thats what seems to have been said.
im no engine building expert, but thats not something you can blame on the rods, and bloody suprised its something that happened so fast the damage couldnt have been reduced!
personally I think its a slightly odd engine spec too, lot of money i expect, for not a lot back, but hey, not my car.

I thought a price of about £2500 was mentioned for the repair and that he was happy enough to pay.. So what changed?
if it was all down to money don't think jamie would have put so much effort in all week and spent twice the hours on it that he's probably charged for the work in that case. he was advised that these rods were cheap chinese ones re labled but decided to see what they were like and went with them so why people try blaming the mapper is stupid sorry should of said retarded we've all done something we later regret but thats why we're human if we only made the really good decisions the world would be a boring place thats why we need the ratards to amuse us and post there antics on youtube.
my bill will be the biggest for the re-wire and technical advice if manual labour in garages is £50 an hour all this head working stuff must be atleast £75 an hour so if we start at around 3000 and see where we go from there.

Not sure anyone is blaming the mapper! It's an interesting failure that I doubt was caused by the rods whether they were Chinese copy's or not, I would have paid them special attention if there had been doubt.
