You are allowed to be a complete retard swamp donkey on here if you want mate.

And in fact, it would appear you are choosing to exercise that very right.

Likewise, we are allowed to point out you seem to be shouting without saying anything, and typing without reason.

Honestly mate, im at a loss.

You have about a dozen different possible causes of engine failure that you could have pointed the finger at, and instead you start a thread ranting about pretty much the only part that you should be able to tell definately ISNT at fault, and say you are buying expensive rods instead next time, well its a fucking good job you didnt do this time dont you think?

I have no formal education as a mechanic at all, just a fair bit of experience, I think you must be mistaking me for someone else.

Ive got a software engineering degree some A levels and a 25M swimming certificate though

this thread was never about finding out what went wrong with my engine,it was about me saying that the rod aren't as good as some mite think, i was told how they were cheaply made and with not very good tolerances thats why with the need for a new set of rods that im going down a different rout !

most things are made as cheaply as possible, otherwise nobody would be able to make any profit

have you actually measured the rods? i've got a set of them and believe me, you couldn't get much more perfect on the machining side of things.

So on page 3, finally you actually post something vaguely relating to what the thread was apparently about?

Did Jamsport measure the tolerances when they built your engine? If so, what were they?

Surely they must have been acceptable or the build would have halted?

The tolerances on a rod are generally pretty easily corrected with a bit of machining too by the way.

My main issue with the cheap rods, is the vague route they take to market and the lack of any real come back to the manufacturers, at least with arrows you buy from an authorised dealer and know what you are getting, eagle rods off ebay half the time arent even anything to do with eagle, as ive seen several sets that are different and yet all sold as "eagle"

glad you got the car sorted and up and running
i work for ford down in cornwall and have known the zetec oil pumps to cause problems
specially the pressure relief valve jamming open or packing up this is a common thing which then leads to oil starvation drying the bearing outs, also the standard oil pumps do like to reved pass 7k either, the trouble with the pump is the the valve is all one unit with the pump so cant be taken apart to be cleaned or replaced have to buy a new pump as not sold seprated

could even been a bit of dirt in the oil pump blocking it up starving the pump and bearings
but that his highly unlike on a fresh built motor

if it was a rod fault properly would of stuck the con rod thought the side of the block

you say jamsport built the engine , if your paying all this money do you not get any garantee, cos if i payed to get an engine built and it done this i would be straight on the phone wanting answers and free repaires.

Am i wrong in saying this.

Imo no you exactly right, is this maybe why jamsport are blaming the rods as they didn't reccommend them at first??
if the oil pump did fail as it sounds like it did then thats not the builders fault either imo- just one of those things by the sounds of it

If you are supplying parts to someone to build you an engine with, you wont get a meaningful warranty IME

You only tend to get a warranty when its on a complete turnkey package.

it was the pump at fault and was said many times in this thread, i was a bit pissed to be told the engine is basically fucked and it was going to cost a small fortune just to pay for the broken car back, and when we talked about putting it all right i was told not to use them rods again as there simply not upto the job we want from them regardless of what orther people are getting from them.but on a more positive note it should be back on the rollers tomorrow. and jamie and the lads have bent over backwards to help me and always has done .
